Boquete is a birdwatcher’s paradise with its avian diversity reaching 400 species during the dry season. The mountain forests shelter emerald toucanets, collared redstarts, sulfur-winged parakeets, a dozen hummingbird species, and the resplendent quetzal, among others. The Boquete section of the famous Los Quetzales Trail is one good spot to see many cloud forest species but other trails are as good including Bajo Mono, El Pianista Trail, and Finca Lerida.
