Travel up the Chagres River on small dugout canoes to meet the Emberas, one of Panama’s five indigenous people. The village chief will be waiting to give you a brief account on the history of the tribe, traditions, culture, beliefs and handicrafts. A traditional lunch of fish and plantains will be served followed by a traditional Embera dance and the opportunity to shop for handicrafts or maybe get a temporary Embera tattoo! For adventurous souls, the Embera will lead you to a beautiful waterfall in the midst of the rainforest where you can take a swim in the natural refreshing pool just beneath the waterfall.
