This interesting tour will take you into the history and mechanics of the Canal. The day starts with an early morning private pick-up at your hotel and transfer to the pier. The boat heads out to Flamenco Island, where we will wait for the Panama Canal Commission Pilot who will be our guide through the transit. You will navigate the entire Pacific entrance to the Canal and the locks at Miraflores and Pedro Miguel where you will experience how our boat is raised above sea level. You will also pass underneath the historic Las Americas Bridge and Centennial Bridge, which effectively join North and Central America with South America. Corte Culebra, after Pedro Miguel Locks, is one of the most interesting sections as it was cut through the solid rock formation which constitutes the Continental Divide. After disembarking in Gamboa, a bus will transfer you to the pier in Panama City, where your private driver is waiting to transfer you to your hotel. The tour may also operate in reverse order, starting in Gamboa and ending at the Canal’s Pacific entrance.
